its been a while...

well, it would seem as if I had disappeared.

not exactly...

as always I've been keeping up my connections with the australian fashion industry, the blunders... the ridiculous as the case may be.

I'm not sure if you've heard the one about the much lauded Sydney designer, whom several australian magazines, (vogue and harper's included) seem to genuflect before, revelling in his creativity and amazing way with textiles...

don't suppose it has anything to do with the japanese students he brought over to do it all for him? not that anyone really knows about these people... they just get the job done, he takes the credit. I'm not bitter about it at all, this is the fashion industry after all, you make it was it is. Still, credit where credits due, and I must give him credit for his amazing ability to pocket a profit at the expense of the minions.

SS 2006 Parades -London and New York

Well here are the new girls... and some old ones. Gemma Ward, Nicole Trunfio, Elyse Taylor and Amy Finlayson.

SS 2006 Parades - New York and London

Well New York and London have taken place, and the Aussie's are an ever present force to be reckoned with. Seasoned supermodel Gemma Ward took on the New York shows in full force, walking 17 shows for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta and Donna Karan. Two other members of the Aussie jetset made their prescence known, top model Nicole Trunfio and rumoured new Chanel cosmetics girl, Elyse Taylor.

While London has become something of a ghost town for the supermodels, Australian model Amy Finlayson has marched out, walking for ten designers. With momentum like that without a NY debut, we may just see a new star rising.

Grace Small Hits the big time

Perth Model Grace Small has hit the big time signing with supermodel maker mega agency IMG. The petite model, standing at only 5"7, has had many comparisons drawn to Kate Moss, like many models. However, she could prove to be the first truly to make the leap to superstardom.

The Golden Girl

Say hello to one girl that is almost certain to make it big... and quickly. She's the Aussie Model known as Tallulah, a star among the group at Scene Models Australia. She may only have started modelling less than a year ago, but that is not stopping her from quickly becoming one of the most sought after models in Australia. With chiseled cheek bones, pouty lips and legs that go on forever, the 5'11 schoolgirl is quickly racking up shows and shoots. Follow magazine is a huge fan, using her for both their first two magazines, Cue Australia has managed a campaign deal and designers like Josh Goot love her. So what is the amazing thing about her, besides supermodel looks? Attitude. She is nice to absolutely everyone and always excited!... some things are so good but are still true.

Follow Cover... for October

Well follow is out once again, and the October 2005 cover girl is none other than the beautiful Tallulah of Scene Models.. At only 14 this girl has the world at her feet.

Chadwick's Chicks

After years of the Vivien's/Chic stronghold in australia, Chadwicks seems to be rising like a phoenix with a flush of fresh faced beauties positively screaming international catwalk stardom.
So while Vivien's (Gemma Ward/Nicole Trunfio/Jess Gomes) and chic (Elyse Taylor/Miranda Kerr/Alyssa Sutherland) are not letting go any time soon, I'd like to introduce you to the new set... all ready to stand up and be judged.

First on the left: Grace Small, the stunning Perth girl that had fashion insiders drawing comparisons to Kate Moss not only in beauty, but also stature. Then, another Perth girl Allegra, whose name draws all the connections to the glamorous beauty she is...

And then there was Rebecca Frost. An international star already, Rebecca was a Jeans West Campaigner before campaigning for D&G and GF Ferre
Comparisons to angelina jolie, come ringing in. Another newbie is Katerina... and with that face, stardom is assured.
And then there was alice. The stunning beauty is also a newbie, but I don't think it'll take her too long to find her feet...

Blue Chip - Valentino

Very cool - Valentino Posted by Picasa

Here she is again, proving she has the right to a top 3 model spot. This season seems to be going magically for the girl from Perth... and I don't believe this is the end of Miss Ward's reign..

Magical Miranda

Miss Miranda Posted by Picasa

The Aussie's certainly seem to be on a role lately haven't they!? Yet another Chic girl, Miranda Kerr has been an Aussie regular for a while now, but has got a break out role as one of the new faces of Make-up giant Maybelline. This girl seems set to soar

Gemma For Burberry

Burberry 2 Posted by Picasa
Well the New Autumn/Winter 2005-2006 Campaigns are starting to come out, and one model set to shine more brightly than most is the gorgeous Gemma Ward. It may just be me, but the sense of Deja Vu keeps getting stronger between the Aussie and miss Kate Moss. First she takes out enormous competition in the form of Natalia Vodianova, Calvin's contract model to be the new obsession girl... now she takes over directly from Miss moss as the new Burberry girl... definitely interesting.
